In conjunction with the 2018 Central District SHAPE America Convention in Sioux Falls, SD, NDSHAPE will be hosting 3 Pre-convention sessions. To register for these sessions, you need to be a member of your state PE association. If you are a member of IAHPERD, SHAPE Nebraska, or MOAHPERD, we will need you to join NDSHAPE as an affiliate member to allow us to provide insurance for your participation in the two sessions.
The fees associated with each session will be used to offset the facility rental for the events.
NASP Instructor Certification

This training is designed to certify educators in the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). NASP is designed to enable educators to introduce international style target to 4th-12th grade students. Certification offered at this training is valid in all 50 states.

The Scheels IcePlex is located at the Sanford Sports Complex on the north side of Sioux Falls off the I-29 Benson Rd exit, right next to the Sanford Pentagon building.
Come one, come all to my house and learn one of the newer Olympic sports—Curling! This session will introduce participants to basic curling terminology, how to deliver the stone, sweeping basics and scoring. Participants should wear loose clothing and bring a clean pair of tennis shoes to wear on the ice.
Cyndee Johnson has experience teaching curling to all age levels with her expertise being teaching school age children to curl. Cyndee is a Level II USA Curling instructor, Level II USA Curling Official and a Level III USA Curling Coach. In 2004, Cyndee was the United States Curling Coach of the Year, her junior women’s team was the USA Junior Women’s Champions and finished fourth at Junior Women’s Worlds. In 2016, Cyndee selected as the Central District Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year.

This session is for those with curling experience that would like to come and shoot some rocks with friends 🙂
