Health Content Committee Specialists Needed

Oh behalf of the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction, the Mid-Dakota Education Cooperative (MDEC) and the South East Education Cooperative (SEEC) we are inviting you all to submit an application for selection to serve as a content specialist committee member to prioritize the updated Health Education Standards and to create proficiency scales for the purpose of improving core instruction.   

We are assembling a work group of approximately 15 North Dakota Educators from across the state that will represent a cross-section of communities and schools.  The goal will be to have 3 individuals per grade-level strand (PreK-2; Grades 3-5, Grade 6, Grades 7-8 and Grades 9-12).  The work group will:

  • Review the 2018 Health Education Content Standards
  • Engage in online learning modules prior to first face-to-face meeting date
  • Prioritize Health Education Content Standards
  • Draft Proficiency Scales in child-friendly language

The work group will meet in-person three times, those dates are as follows:

  • Friday, April 26th
  • Thursday, May 2nd
  • Wednesday, May 29th

All of these in-person meetings will take place in Minot, ND. 

We will be able to provide either reimbursement for substitute teacher pay to the school district + all travel expenses (mileage, lodging and meals) or provide a personal stipend + all travel expenses (mileage, lodging and meals) for those serving on the work group.  

There will also be 2 graduate credits available.
